"Ｈａｒｍｏｎｉｃａ Ｃｈａｒｉｔｙ Ｃｏｎｃｅｒｔ 2001 for Chiba people
for Chiba people" was held on Oct 21st at Narashino City Hall and
"The Humming Cats" performed as the top batter. This is introduced
in the Chiba Nippo news paper as "Harmonica Players Great Performance",
and a picture of "The Humming Cats" was shown, probably because
of top batter.

Ｗｉｔｈ the last concert tonight, harmonica trio "The Hummingbirds"
has broken up completely. Since the forming of the group in 1993, we performed
172 times in 8 years. We thanks to all of you who invited us to concerts,
who has been in audience, and who danced in the folk dance parties or social
dance parties. From now on, the individual member will go his own way,
but never give up harmonica. We will see you again in some other form of
the performances. Thank you again.

The maestro of the chromatic harmonica, Larry Adler had passed away on
August 7th, 2001. God bless him. Here intruduces a bulletin from IHO for
his death.
LARRY ADLER
The greatest legend of the harmonica. died peacefully in St. Thomas Hospital,
London England last evening surrounded by family and friends. He was 87
and had been suffering from a number of ailments for several years but
this did not prevent his charming audiences all over the world with his
particular brand of music and humour.
To attempt to list his achievements in this hastily written bulletin would
be an injustice so the next IHO Newsletter will contain a fuller account
of the man and his music.
REST IN PEACE, LARRY, you were our inspiration and you will never be forgotten
for what you did for every would-be harmonica player in every part of the
world. It was my privilege to have known you, my friend.

IT Comittee had been formed in AJHF as one of the activities of this year. Its purpose is to produce an official internet site of AJHF in order to modernize it in the 21st century. 2001/3/18, Guide to the Harmonica Classic Concert
The Harmonica Classic Concert will be held on April 8th.
I will play "Blow in the Silver Moon(for guitar and harmonica motivated by Koujou no tuki" composed by the Sumito Sato. This is a contemporary music of ten minutes long rather than a classical one. It is very hard to play, since it is based on very complicated scale. I will do the best because it will be a rare experience in my life to play a music composed for myself.

 Our "Old Friends", the Adler Trio, always famous for their brilliant display of virtuosity coupled with

F.I.H. WORLD HARMONICA FESTIVAL, 2001
October, 24/28th, Trossingen, Germany. Three Gala Concerts are planned for the evenings of October 25th, 26th and 27th, in the Emst Hohner Konzerthaus. The first evening is entitled Classic Meets Jazz, and will feature performances by highly acclaimed modern jazz chromaticist Hendrick Meukens and his band, and classical virtuoso Franz Schmel. Contemporary Blues Masters on Friday October 26th will include appearances by Gary Primich, one of the finest exponents of modern Chicago harmonica blues performers today, and Carlos Del Junco, star pupil of overblow giant Howard Levy and one of the most innovative and exciting diatonic players in the world. The third concert, International Harmonica Artists, will feature various harmonica performers from the many countries represented
at the festival including Celtic harmonica wizards Mick Kinsella and Rick
Epping and the Pica Trio from Germany. Other acts for the three evenings
will be announced in due course.
The supporting program will include visits to the Hohner factory and a
special exhibition in the Trossingen Harmonica Museum, which boasts the
most extensive collection of harmonica-related artifacts in the world.
There will also be a stand selling instruments, CDs, books, and harmonica
accessories such as amplifiers and microphones.

The newest offering from master harmonica player, Claude Garden, is available
from Elabeth Studio du Petit Pont, 12, rue du Petit Pont, 78310 Maurepas,
France. No price was stated in the information supplied and the deadline
for publication was such that there was no time to ask. Please contact
them direct for more info. The CD is a dream. The CD title is "Garden
Club".
